Chicago: Drupal is one of the accepted CMSs in Denmark in current years. Now a new version of Drupal (version 8) is on the stairs. According to Drupal founder, Dries Buytaert, the Drupal 8 alpha cycle was started to encourage module developers to test out Drupal 8 and to try upgrading their modules. The second alpha release of Drupal 8: Drupal 8.x alpha 2 is released!
Buytaert says, “I think it is exciting that after years of hard work by many, we have now begun to post alpha releases.”
The purpose of alpha releases is to let module developers to spot API deficiencies while they can still be corrected. Buytaert says that they want Drupal’s API to be easy to learn, easy to use, hard to misuse, easy to read and maintain, and easy to extend. Good API design actually matters and there is only one chance to get it right so download the alpha release, try upgrading some contributed modules.
Version 8 features including a revamped core, a new Configuration System, better support for HTML 5 and responsive design. There is also scope for a more mobile-friendly administration and a number of other things. As per the timetable for Drupal 8 to developers 1 July initiate the so-called API freeze, leading up to the first release candidate of Drupal 8. Dries Buytaert among other things, refers to the next version of the CMS and visions for the future where the digital presence is completely necessary for most companies. “It is the goal that Drupal 8.0 is ready either by the end of 2013 or early of 2014.”
